Purely Present Health

Meet our Founder

Beverly Mazza, BSN, RN is a registered nurse, Certified Whole Health Educator™, health coach, and patient advocate. She possesses a unique skill set that combines her nursing expertise with knowledge in functional medicine, holistic health and mindfulness practice. She is studying to become a board certified Health and Wellness Nurse Coach (HWNC-BC), as well as a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT). With a focus on helping clients manage chronic stress, she guides them toward a happier, healthier life through a comprehensive approach.

With extensive healthcare experience, Bev empowers clients with coaching that combines kindness, compassion, and clarity. She has served hundreds of patients as a bedside nurse in a busy Worcester, MA hospital and currently works as an integrative internal medicine nurse at a concierge lifestyle medicine practice near Boston. Recognizing the role of stress in chronic health conditions, Bev aims to bridge the gap between knowing what to do and implementing sustainable health behavior changes in the real world.

Drawing from her own health challenges, Bev used mindfulness to reshape her daily habits and cultivate a healthier, sustainable way of living. She believes that true health is nurtured outside the doctor’s office, requiring support, coaching, and accountability to foster enduring change. Rather than approaching health as a checklist, Bev encourages a lifestyle-based approach, transforming it into a way of being.

Her Approach

Recognizing that mindfulness helps you become more aware of your thoughts and feelings, Bev began to incorporate these approaches into her nursing and coaching practice to support her clients to relieve stress so that they feel calmer and fully capable of creating healthy habits for lasting results.

She founded Purely Present Health to inspire and nurture healthier daily habits for a mindfully healthy life. In her signature coaching program, The Stress Better Habits Solution, she teaches mindful approaches to stress management and health behavior change.

Testimonials

Beverly Mazza is an incredibly compassionate, knowledgeable, and empathetic health coach. Beverly put the power back into my hands to make sure that all the buckets of my health were getting the right attention. At first it was a rude awakening, so often when it comes to our health we defer to the professionals, but Bev made it very clear to me that at the end of the day no one knows my body, mind, and spirit better than me. Beverly gently held me as I made that clear reckoning within myself to truly take a holistic approach to my life and the knowledge, encouragement, and baby steps to truly start making this next chapter of my life about taking care of my whole being.

Bev has the perfect trifecta of skills to benefit her clients. 1) Her medical training as a nurse enables her to have a deep knowledge of medical issues. 2) Her specialized training as a health coach allows her to help her clients live healthier, happier lives. 3) Bev really cares. Her compassion shines through in every patient encounter.

Bev has changed my life in so many positive ways! She has not only helped me with my medical challenges, she has also helped me to live a more mindful and emotionally balanced life. She is always there when I need her, with positive and practical advice. Bev never preaches. She is empathic and supportive. Thank you, Bev, for helping me to live a happier, healthier life!

Working with Beverly was a wonderful and eye opening experience.  When we started our sessions I was recovering from multiple health issues that could all be traced to the significant amount of stress in my life.  In meeting with doctors, the stress in my lifes was quickly acknowledged but I was prescribed medication which proved to be only a short term solution.  Beverly took the time to walk me through my body’s response to stress and clearly outline why it was impacting my health and provided me with multiple methods to combat stress.  It was refreshing to be given information not medication and tools rather than instructions to help me navigate these issues.  All the tools I was given were easy to implement and Beverly made sure I was never setting goals and trying to implement changes that were unachievable.  She was clearly invested in my success and showed patience, compassion, and interest throughout the entire process.  While I have never enjoyed going to a doctor I thoroughly enjoyed our sessions and would highly recommend Beverly’s program to anyone wanting to start a healthier life!

Bev has been our practice nurse for the past few years, and has been an invaluable member of our team. During this time, she has built deep relationships with the patients, and her attention to both detail as well as the “big picture” reflects how much she cares about them. Focusing on not only patients’ physical health, but also their emotional well-being, Bev has written a series of newsletters on mindfulness and self-care, which we have incorporated into our care for our patients. I highly recommend Bev for her dedication and compassion.
